I guess we’d hit the town

you could see we were a sight

we were taken up, taken down

until we saw the light

there’s no use in denying

we were pretty black and blue

the expression on your face says

hey man what can you do

but then

no one

could tell

you know you wore it well

I’m pretty sure that camera

tried to steal our soul

Were we really so elusive

were we on a roll

rolling in the starlight

it was everything we dreamed

only later do we find

it was nothing like it seemed

how are we to know

we never would let go

a moment now passed

some beauty it had

somehow still lasts

a photograph

if you look at it closely

here’s what you will find

a boy who loses way

and a girl who would not mind

would anyone have guessed

we’d fall in love

even more, never last

how are we to know

time that flew fast

a strange light now cast

is captured at last
