Das ist keine Zeit für Damen und erst recht kein passender Ort

Ich kenne nicht einmal ihren Namen, denn sie sagt kein Wort

Doch irgendwas in ihrem Blick sagt mir: Sie braucht mich doch

Ich glaube ihr und ich helfe ihr hoch

Wie Aal windet sich am Boden ein neues Problem

Bis zu den Knien im Morast versunken, alles Matsch und Lehm

Dazwischen winden sich alte Sünden, die ihr folgen wie ihr Duft

Als ihr entsetzter Blick auf meine Zuversicht trifft

Ich trage dich durch’s Moor und ich stelle keine Fragen

Ich mach es einfach gern, lass mich dich tragen

Ich fühl sie so nah und schön und warm

Wer ist diese Frau in meinem Arm?

Endlich nahet sich ein Ende, Morgenrot und der Wald lichtet sich

Doch in gleichem Maße wirst du durchsichtig

Die Sonne scheint und meine Arme sind leer

Bis auf einen Tropfen Morgentau

Finally the end is near, dawn and the forest clears

But to the same extent you become transparent

The sun is shining and my arms are empty
