Ich sehe all die Kriege, nur das Elend und das Leid

Seh die Starken und die Schwachen und die Hoffnungslosigkeit

Ich sehe all die Mütter und sie weinen um ihr Kind

Wie vor Jahren um die Väter, die schon längst gestorben sind

Ich sehe wie der Arme um sein Überleben kämpft

Wie die Stadt aus Gut und Böse ihn bis ganz nach unten drängt

Ich sehe all die Fremden, die doch nie dazugehören

Einzig wegen ihrer Herkunft jedes Recht auf Glück verlieren

Soviel an Wut und Trauer, die sich dort angestaut

Und wer versprach zu helfen, hat lieber wegeschaut

Die Welt in der wir leben, die man so gern verspricht

Ist nicht die Welt für jenen, der daran zerbricht

Ich sehe all die Krüppel, die einst groß und stolz gekämpft

Und die Grabmale der Toten, deren Namen man nicht kennt

Ich sehe wie der Alte, verloren und resigniert

Nun rein gar nichts mehr erwartet, nur den Tag an dem er stirbt

Ich sehe wie die Hure sich dem Manne stumm ergibt

Und der Kranke, der vereinsamt in seinem Bette liegt

Ich sehe die Verzweiflung und zuviel der Bitterkeit

Die Verlierer der Gesellschaft, den Abschaum dieser Zeit

I see all the wars, only misery and suffering

See the strong and the weak and the hopelessness

I see all the mothers and they are crying for their child

Like years ago for the fathers who have long since died

I see the poor man fighting for his survival

How the city of good and evil pushes him all the way down

I see all the strangers who never belong

Losing any right to happiness simply because of where they come from

So much anger and sadness building up there

And those who promised to help preferred to look the other way

The world we live in that people love to promise

Is not the world for those who break it

I see all the cripples who once fought tall and proud

And the tombs of the dead whose names are unknown

I see like the old man, lost and resigned

Now nothing at all expected, only the day he dies

I see how the whore silently surrenders to the man

And the sick man lying alone in his bed

I see the desperation and too much bitterness

The losers of society, the scum of this time
