Die Sonne hat ihn heute aufgeweckt

Er sitzt an einem Tisch der nicht gedeckt

Die Zeitung liegt wie immer vor der Tür

Auf Seite 10 ein kleines Bild von ihr

Er denkt sich langsam an die Zeit heran

Wo all die Macht der Dinge sie verband

Doch heute ist nichts mehr wie es mal war

Ein Teil von ihm ist einfach nicht mehr da

Und ihm kann keiner helfen

Denn er ist ganz allein

Und schaut der Welt beim leben zu

Die Zimmer die so kalt und gänzlich leer

Und auch das Telephon hört er nicht mehr

Auf den Regalen sammelt sich der Staub

Er geht zum Fenster, schaut zum Hof hinaus

Die Sonne hat ihn heute aufgeweckt

Die Uhren zeigen jetzt schon fast halb acht

Wäre er doch heute bloß nicht aufgewacht

The sun woke him up today

He is sitting at a table that is not set

As always, the newspaper is in front of the door

On page 10 a small picture of her

He slowly thinks about the time

Where all the power of things connected them

But today nothing is like it used to be

A part of him is just not there anymore

And nobody can help him

Because he is all alone

And watch the world live

The rooms so cold and completely empty

And he no longer hears the phone either

Dust collects on the shelves

He goes to the window, looks out at the courtyard

The sun woke him up today

He is sitting at a table that is not set

The clocks now show almost half past seven

If only he hadn't woken up today
