Wenn ich so in die Vergangenheit schau,

dann seh' ich ein Mädchen mit Augen so blau.

Ein Blau,

das läßt sich mit gar nichts and’rem vergleichen.

Sie war in der Schule der große Schwarm,

von mir und meinen Freunden,

doch dann am letzten Schultag

stellte das Leben seine Weichen.

Wir hab’n uns sofort aus den Augen verloren,

hab' mich oft gefragt,

was ist aus ihr geworden.

Die Wege, die wir zwei gegangen sind,

war’n nicht die gleichen.

Und vorgestern sitz' ich im Stammlokal,

Der Bernhard, der neben uns wohnte

bei uns in der Straße.

Sie zwinkert mir zu wie vor 15 Jahr’n,

sie sagt: «Na wie geht’s denn,

mein Bernhard, na klar.

Du hast auch schon sehr lang

nichts mehr von Dir hören lassen.»

Ich nick' nur,

«Sehr lang, ja viel zu lang».

Sie meint: «Komm probier’n wir’s

ab heut' mal zu zweit».

Und später sag ich lachend

noch einmal zu ihr auf der Straße:
