На путях старый поезд качался,

И летел снег под стуки колёс…

За спиной шумный город остался,

Ну, а жизнь подалась под откос.

Мы сидим и дымим папироской —

Дети самой весёлой страны,

Ну, а рядом уснули берёзки,

Чтоб смотреть свои зимние сны.

Эх, страна любимая — ели да берёзы,

Едет сонная шпана к дедушке Морозу!

Ты постой, не грози рукой, тётка —

Мы тут хором тебе посвистим,

Ты торгуй своей тухлой селёдкой,

И глотай едкий дым.

А в вагоне — и радость, и слёзы:

Мы теперь никому не нужны…

Едут в гости к сибирским морозам

Дети самой весёлой страны!

The noisy city remained behind,

You wait, don't threaten with your hand, aunt -

We will whistle to you in unison,

You trade your rotten herring,

And swallow the acrid smoke.

And in the car - both joy and tears:

Nobody needs us now...

They go to visit the Siberian frosts

Children of the most cheerful country!
