Где вы были в то утро,

Когда солнце окрасило крыши домов

Перламутром,

Когда окна раскрылись, как крылья стрекоз,

И по улице шел одинокий прохожий…

А в руке он держал

Разноцветную связку шаров.

Солнца шар золотой,

Шар Земли голубой,

Одуванчика шар серебристый,

Ярко красный шар сердца

И радужный шар надувной.

Где вы были в тот день,

Когда туча набросила тень

на дома, как вуаль,

И из складок ее выпал ветер…

И тотчас подхватив

Легкий радужный шар,

Он унес его вдаль.

А в неловких руках

Вдруг забился под ветром цветок,

Как серебреный мотылек,

И погас как свеча…

И не будет Луна освещать уже завтра

Этот хрупкий цветок с душой астронавта.

Где вы были в тот вечер,

Когда вспыхнул закатный пожар

И расплавился шар —

Ярко красный шар сердца…

И упал человек, тот который мечтал

Пронести сквозь наш век

Разноцветную связку шаров.

Солнца шар золотой,

Шар Земли голубой…

And went out like a candle...

This fragile flower has the soul of an astronaut.

And the ball melted -

And a man fell, the one who dreamed
