Чутко горы спят, Южный Крест залез на небо,

Спустились вниз долины облака.

Осторожно, друг, ведь никто из нас здесь не был,

В таинственной стране Мадагаскар!

Может стать, что ты смерть найдешь за океаном!

Но только ты от смерти не беги,

Осторожно, друг, даль подернулась туманом

Сними с плеча свой верный карабин!

Ночью труден путь, на востоке воздух серый,

Но вскоре солнце встанет из-за скал,

Осторожно, друг, тяжелы и метки стрелы

У жителей страны Мадагаскар!

Южный Крест погас в золотом рассветном небе,

Поднялись из долины облака.

Осторожно, друг, ведь никто из нас здесь не был,

В таинственной стране Мадагаскар!

The mountains are fast asleep, the Southern Cross has climbed into the sky,
