
Yasmine Hamdan is a Lebanese singer, actress, and songwriter born in 1976. She rose to fame as one half of the duo Soapkills , which she co-founded in Beirut with Zeid Hamdan. The group was one of the first to experiment with electronic music in the Middle East, fusing traditional Arabic motifs with contemporary sounds. After the duo's dissolution Yasmine Hamdan launched a successful solo career, releasing albums such as "Ya Nass" to critical acclaim. Her work has had a significant influence on the development of electronic and alternative music in the Arab world.
