
Wayne Kramer is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer, born in 1948 in the United States. He gained prominence in the 1960s as the lead guitarist of the Detroit rock band MC5, which he co-founded in 1963 alongside guitarist Fred "Sonic" Smith. The group, known for its high-energy performances and politically charged lyrics, became a cornerstone of the proto-punk movement. Beyond MC5, Kramer has contributed to jazz and film music, showcasing his versatility as a composer. His work has left a lasting impact on rock and alternative music genres.
