Владимир Шаинский (1925–2017) was a Soviet and Russian composer, pianist, singer, violinist, and music teacher. He was born in the USSR, in what is now Ukraine. He was awarded the titles of People's Artist of the RSFSR, USSR State Prize, and Lenin Komsomol Prize. Шаинский is known for his children's compositions, including songs for cartoons such as "Чебурашка" His music became an integral part of Soviet culture, and his melodies remain popular.
