Владимир Холстинин is a Soviet and Russian rock musician, born on May 12, 1958. He is a guitarist, composer, and one of the founders of the heavy metal band «Ария» . Kholstinin suggested the band's name and remains its only permanent member. Along with Виталием Дубининым he serves as the band's leader and the author of a significant portion of its compositions. «Ария» is considered one of the most influential bands in the history of Russian hard rock, releasing such hits as «Беспечный ангел» and «Улица роз» Kholstinin's contribution to the development of hard rock in Russia is difficult to overstate.
