A native of the United States with Italian heritage, he gained prominence as a member of Black Sabbath, Dio, and Heaven and Hell. At just 18 years old, he also performed with John Lennon, showcasing his versatility early in his career. As the younger brother of drummer Carmine Appice, he has contributed significantly to the evolution of heavy rock drumming, leaving a lasting impact on the genre.
