Вениамин Ефимович Баснер was a Soviet composer born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Russia) in 1925. He worked in the Russian pop genre and became known for his melodies for film and theater. Among his best-known works are the scores for the films " Тишина ," " Щит и меч ," and " Дни Турбиных ." Баснер also collaborated with prominent poets such as Михаил Матусовский , creating songs that became classics of Soviet pop music. His contribution to the development of musical art in the USSR remains significant.
