Валерий Ободзинский (1942–1997) was a Soviet and Russian pop singer of Ukrainian descent. He became one of the most popular performers in the USSR in the 1960s and 1970s. Ободзинский pioneered such hits as "Эти глаза напротив" "Восточная песня" "Колдовство" and "Играет орган" During his career, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Mari ASSR. His work made a significant contribution to the development of Russian pop music, leaving a lasting mark on the musical culture of the USSR.
