Uriah Heep is a British hard rock band formed in 1969 in London, England. The group took its name from a character in Charles Dickens' novel "David Copperfield." The original lineup came together when producer Gerry Bron invited keyboardist Ken Hensley to join members of the band Spice. Uriah Heep gained worldwide fame in the early 1970s with albums like "Look at Yourself", "Demons and Wizards", and "The Magician's Birthday", which are now considered hard rock classics. Their contributions to the genre include blending progressive rock elements with heavy guitar riffs, influencing countless bands in the decades that followed.
