TobyMac (real name Toby McKeehan ) is an American contemporary Christian music singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer, born in 1964. He began his career as a member of the Christian rap-rock trio dc Talk , with whom he performed from 1987 to 2000. After the group's disbandment TobyMac launched a successful solo career, releasing nine studio albums, including "Momentum" , "Eye on It" , and "Life After Death" . His music combines elements of pop, hip-hop, and gospel. TobyMac is also known for his remix albums and work with the road band Diverse City . He has made a significant contribution to the popularization of contemporary Christian music.
