Known for his unique four-string guitar technique, he gained prominence in the 1940s as a member of the Art Tatum Trio. Later, he led his own bands, including the influential Tiny Grimes and the Rocking Highlanders, which blended jazz and early rock elements. His notable recordings include "Tiny's Boogie Woogie" and "Romance Without Finance". Tiny Grimes played a key role in bridging jazz and rhythm and blues, influencing the development of rock and roll.
