The Longest Johns is a British folk group from Bristol, England, formed in 2012. The band, consisting of Andy Yates, Jonathan "JD" Darley, and Robbie Sattin, is known for performing traditional English folk and sea shanties, as well as creating and recording their own original music. They gained widespread recognition in early 2021 when their rendition of the 1860s folk song "Wellerman" went viral on TikTok, sparking a global sea shanty revival. Their work has contributed significantly to the resurgence of interest in maritime folk traditions and shanty singing.
