Teresa Salgueiro (full name: Maria Teresa de Almeida Salgueiro ) is a Portuguese singer born in 1969. She rose to prominence as the lead singer of the band Madredeus , whose music blends elements of folk, pop, and classical music. After leaving the band Teresa Salgueiro launched a successful solo career, releasing several critically acclaimed albums. In addition to her musical career, she has appeared in films, including Wim Wenders's "Lisbon Story." Teresa Salgueiro has made a significant contribution to the international recognition of Portuguese music.
