Svartby is a folk metal band from St. Petersburg, founded in 2004. Their work is dedicated to the fictional "Black Village," inhabited by evil and cheerful magical creatures. Svartby is unique in that they perform their songs in Swedish, making them the only Russian band to do so. The band combines metal elements with folk motifs, creating a vibrant and memorable style.
