Sugababes are a London-based female pop trio formed in 1998. The group has released 27 singles, six of which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, as well as seven albums, two of which topped the UK Albums Chart. Three of Sugababes albums have been certified triple platinum. In 2003, the group won the award for Best Dance Act, and in 2006, they were recognized as the most successful female act of the 21st century in the UK, surpassing artists such as Britney Spears and Madonna . Their albums have sold over 14 million copies worldwide. Sugababes have made a significant contribution to the development of pop and dance music.
