Sevendust is an American nu-metal band formed in 1994 in Atlanta, USA. The group was founded by bassist Vinnie Hornsby and drummer Morgan Rose, later joined by vocalist Lajon Witherspoon and guitarist Clint Lowery. Their self-titled debut album, released on April 15, 1997, marked the beginning of a prolific career. Sevendust has released 12 studio albums, with their first three achieving Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Known for their intense live performances and powerful sound, the band has become a staple in the nu-metal genre, influencing many artists that followed.
