
Roberto Menescal is a Brazilian composer, record producer, guitarist, and vocalist born in 1937. One of the pioneers of bossa nova, he is known for his work in the genres of Brazilian popular music, bossa nova, and samba. His most famous composition is "O Barquinho" which, like many of his other songs, contains references to the sea. Roberto Menescal has collaborated with artists such as Карлос Лира , Нара Леао , and Ванда Са . In 2002, he was nominated for a Latin Грэмми Award, and in 2013, he received special recognition from the Latin Recording Academy. His contribution to the development of bossa nova remains significant.
