
Rafael Kubelik (1914–1996) was a prominent Czech conductor and composer. Born in the Czech Republic, he became known for his work with leading orchestras around the world, including Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra . His repertoire encompassed both classical works and contemporary music. Kubelik also actively opposed the political regime in Czechoslovakia, which led to his emigration.
