
Philip Oakey (born 2 October 1955) is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer from the United Kingdom. He is best known as the lead singer, songwriter, and co-founder of the synthpop group The Human League . The group achieved international success in the 1980s with hits such as "Don't You Want Me" and "Human" In addition to his work with The Human League , Oakey has also pursued a solo career and collaborated with various artists and producers, including a project with Giorgio Moroder . His contribution to the development of synthpop has made him one of the genre's key figures.
