Petey Pablo (real name Moses Barrett III) is an American rapper, singer, and record producer from Greenville, North Carolina, born in 1973. He rose to fame with his 2003 single "Freek-a-Leek" , which reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum RIAA . He previously released the track "Raise Up" (2001), dedicated to his hometown, which peaked at number 25 on the chart. His first two albums, "Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry" and "Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry" , were released through Jive Records . The former received a Грэмми Award nomination, while the latter peaked at number four on Billboard 200 Petey Pablo has left a notable mark on the Southern hip hop genre.
