Nathan East is an American jazz, R&B, and rock bassist and vocalist, born in 1955 in the United States. With over 2,000 recordings to his name, Nathan East is one of the most recorded bassists in music history. A graduate of the University of California, San Diego, with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, he co-founded the contemporary jazz quartet Fourplay. Over his career, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Daft Punk, and Herbie Hancock. His contributions have significantly shaped the jazz and R&B genres, making him a pivotal figure in modern music.
