Modest Mouse is an American indie rock band formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington, by guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, and bassist Eric Judy. Based in Portland, the band debuted with the album "This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About" in 1996. Their lineup expanded in 2006 with the addition of guitarist Johnny Marr, formerly of The Smiths, contributing to the album "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank", which reached #1 on the Billboard 200. Known for their introspective lyrics and unique sound, Modest Mouse has significantly influenced the indie rock genre.
