Max Cavalera (full name: Massimiliano Antonio Cavalera ) is a Brazilian vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Italian descent, born on August 4, 1969. He is the founder of such renowned bands as Sepultura , Nailbomb , Soulfly , Cavalera Conspiracy , and Killer be Killed . His career began with the formation of Sepultura , one of the most influential metal bands in the world, which popularized the thrash metal genre in Brazil. He later founded Soulfly , blending metal with ethnic elements. Max Cavalera has had a huge influence on the development of extreme metal, remaining one of the genre's key figures.
