Matthew K. Heafy (full name Matthew Kiichi Heafy , Japanese name Мэтью Киити Хифи ) is a Japanese-American musician born on January 26, 1986. He is the frontman, vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter of the metal band Trivium . The band gained fame for albums such as "Ascendancy" and "Shogun" as well as the hits "In Waves" and "Strife" Heafy is known for his unique vocal style, which combines clean singing and growling, as well as his virtuoso guitar playing. His contributions to the development of modern metalcore and melodic death metal have made him one of the genre's key figures.
