Martin L. Gore (born 23 July 1961) is a British composer, singer, guitarist, keyboardist, and DJ, best known as a member of the band Depeche Mode . Since the band's formation in 1980, he has written the vast majority of their songs, including hits such as "Personal Jesus" , "Enjoy the Silence" , "I Feel You" , and "People Are People" . In concert, Martin L. Gore also performs vocals on the songs "Somebody" , "A Question of Lust" , and "Home" . His contributions to the development of electronic and pop music made Depeche Mode one of the most influential bands of their time.
