Marian Hill is an American electronic duo formed in 2013. The band consists of Samantha Gongol and Jeremy Lloyd. The band's name is inspired by characters from the musical The Music Man : Mariana Paroo and Harold Hill. That same year, the duo released their first EP, Play , featuring jazz musician Steve Davitt. Marian Hill is known for their minimalist electronic arrangements and hits such as "Down" which gained widespread popularity thanks to an Apple commercial. The band has made significant contributions to the development of alternative pop and electronic music.
