Maria Taylor is an American singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama, born in 1976. Known for her work in the alternative and indie rock genres, she is also one half of the duo Azure Ray, alongside Orenda Fink. A multi-instrumentalist, Maria Taylor plays guitar, drums, and piano. Over her career, she has collaborated with notable artists such as Bright Eyes, Phoebe Bridgers, Moby, Michael Stipe of R.E.M., and Joshua Radin. Her contributions have enriched the indie rock scene with a blend of introspective lyrics and melodic instrumentation.
