Marcus Miller is an American jazz musician, composer, and producer, born in 1959. A multi-instrumentalist, he is best known as a virtuoso bassist who has collaborated with legends such as Miles Davis , Eric Clapton , Luther Vandross , and David Sanborn . In 2001, he won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album, and in 1991, he was awarded for co-writing Best Rhythm and Blues Composition. Marcus Miller is also a UNESCO Artist for Peace. His contributions to jazz music include innovative arrangements and outstanding solo work.
