
Mantovani (1905–1980) was an Anglo-Italian conductor and composer known for his works in pop, jazz, and film scores. Born in Italy, he pioneered the use of cascading strings, which became his signature style. According to the book "British Hit Singles & Albums," his albums were incredibly successful: for the first time in history, he sold over a million stereo albums, and in 1959, six of his albums simultaneously entered the top 30 in the US. Mantovani had a significant influence on the popularization of orchestral music, leaving a lasting mark on musical history.
