Louis Prima was an Italian-American singer, musician, composer, and lyricist born on December 7, 1910, in the United States. He had a significant influence on popular music from the 1930s to 1950s, working in the genres of jazz, swing, and big band. His career spanned performances with orchestras, recordings for major labels, and film appearances. Among his best-known songs are "Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody" and "Sing, Sing, Sing" In 1993, Louis Prima was inducted into the Jazz Hall of Fame and the Big Band Hall of Fame, recognizing his contribution to the genre.
