Known for his soulful playing, he toured with Whitney Houston for over seven years and performed the iconic saxophone solo on her hit single "I Will Always Love You", the best-selling single by a female artist in music history. Whalum has also contributed to numerous albums by Luther Vandross, often lending his talents to covers of classic pop and R&B standards.
