
Juan D'Arienzo (1900–1976) was an Argentine composer and musician known as one of the key exponents of the Argentine tango genre. Born in Buenos Aires, he began his career in the late 1910s as a violinist, performing in various theaters in the city. Juan D'Arienzo earned the nickname "El Rey del Compás" (The King of Rhythm) for his contribution to the revival of tango in the 1930s, making it more rhythmic and danceable. His orchestra recorded numerous hits, including "La Cumparsita" and "El Flete" His style had a significant influence on the development of tango, making it popular among dancers worldwide.
