John Kay (real name Joachim Fritz Krauledat ) is a Canadian rock musician of German descent, born April 12, 1944. He is the founder and frontman of the legendary rock band Steppenwolf , which gained worldwide fame thanks to hits such as "Born to Be Wild" and "Magic Carpet Ride" John Kay is also known for his unique vocal style and contribution to the development of the hard rock genre. His work has had a significant influence on rock music, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s.
