
Jeff Buckley (Jeffrey Scott Buckley) was an American musician born on November 17, 1966. Working in the rock, pop, and alternative genres, he began his career as a session guitarist and performed covers on stages in Manhattan's East Village. In 1994, after signing with Columbia Records , he released his only lifetime album, Grace , which included such notable tracks as a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" The album received critical acclaim and gained a cult following. Jeff Buckley had a significant influence on alternative rock music, despite his tragic death in 1997.
