Javier Colon is an American acoustic pop singer-songwriter born in 1978. Known for his self-described "acoustic soul" style, he began his career as a member of emcq and The Derek Trucks Band before pursuing a solo path. From 2002 to 2006, he was signed to Capitol Records, releasing music under the name Javier. After parting ways with the label, he founded his own imprint, Javier Colon Music. In 2011, he gained widespread recognition as the winner of the inaugural season of The Voice on NBC, earning $100,000 and a contract with Universal Republic Records. His soulful approach has left a lasting mark on the pop genre.
