David Benoit is an American jazz pianist, composer, and producer based in Los Angeles, California. Born in 1953, he has recorded over 25 albums since 1980 and has been nominated for three Grammy Awards. A key figure in contemporary jazz, Benoit serves as the musical director for the Pacific Vision Youth Symphony and the Asia America Youth Orchestra. Inspired by Vince Guaraldi, he contributed to the music of the Peanuts franchise, including the animated feature The Peanuts Movie. His work has helped preserve and evolve the legacy of jazz in modern media.
