
Ian Astbury is a British singer born in 1962, best known as the lead vocalist, frontman, and co-founder of the rock band The Cult. During breaks in The Cult's activity, he fronted the short-lived Holy Barbarians in 1996 and served as the vocalist for Riders on the Storm, a The Doors tribute band, from 2002 to 2007 alongside original members Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger. In 2003, he replaced Rob Tyner during the MC5 reunion and has contributed guest vocals to various artists' tracks. His work has significantly influenced the alternative rock genre.
