Known for his deep, gravelly voice, he became a defining figure in the Chicago blues scene. His career highlights include iconic tracks like "Smokestack Lightning", "Spoonful", and "Back Door Man", many of which were later covered by rock bands like The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
