
Gruff Rhys is a Welsh musician, composer, producer, film director, and writer, born July 18, 1970. He is best known as a member of the band Super Furry Animals , which achieved widespread popularity in the 1990s. He also formed the electro-pop project Neon Neon with Boom Bip , whose album Stainless Style was nominated for Mercury Prize in 2008. In 2011, his solo album Hotel Shampoo won a Welsh Music Award, and in 2014, he released the project American Interior , which includes a film, a book, and an app. Gruff Rhys is considered a key figure of the Cool Cymru era, making a significant contribution to the development of indie music.
