George Martin

George Martin was an English arranger and composer born in 1926 in the United Kingdom. He is best known for his work with The Beatles in the 1960s. He is often referred to as the "fifth Beatle," as he produced every album in the band's official discography except for the last, released after their breakup in 1970. In addition to his work with The Beatles , George Martin collaborated with individual members of the band and other artists. He was awarded the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire and a Knight Bachelor. Twenty-four songs he produced were included in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. His contribution to the development of the music industry remains unrivaled.
