
Francisco Canaro , also known as Франциско Канаро , was a prominent musician, composer, and conductor born on November 26, 1888, in Uruguay. He became a key figure in the development of Argentine tango. During his career, Canaro wrote numerous works that became classics of the genre and led orchestras that performed tango on the most prestigious stages. He received his nickname "Pirincho" as a child because of his hair, which resembled the crest of a bird from the River Plate region.
