DJ Screw
DJ Screw was an influential American hip-hop DJ and producer from Houston, Texas, born in 1971. Known as the pioneer of the "chopped and screwed" technique, he revolutionized Southern hip-hop by slowing down tracks and adding distinctive effects. His mixtapes, such as "June 27th", became iconic within the underground scene. DJ Screw founded the Screwed Up Click, a collective that included artists like Lil' Keke and Big Pokey. Despite his untimely death in 2000, his legacy continues to shape the sound of Southern hip-hop and inspire new generations of artists.
