Desmond Child (real name John Charles Barrett ) is an American musician, songwriter, and producer of Hungarian descent, born on October 28, 1953. Working in the pop and rock genres, he is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. During his career Desmond Child has written more than 70 Top 40 hits, and his albums have sold over 300 million copies worldwide. He has also received several Grammy Award nominations. Desmond Child has had a significant influence on the development of pop and rock music, collaborating with leading artists in the industry.
